Lancashire v Hampshire (FPT Semi Final)

Ravi Bopara hits it high and long Looking ahead to the semi-final, Lancashire's Head Coach Peter Moores said: "What's particularly exciting about the current Lancashire team is that everyone is contributing to our one-day success. We have match winners all the way down our batting order, and Glen Chapple has got experienced bowling options in Gary Keedy, Sajid Mahmood and obviously himself.

"A lot of this year's success can be attributed to Glen's captaincy and it's his experience in this competition which will be invaluable. Glen has been there before with some of the club's best one-day sides, and now that he is at the helm, it's his opportunity to create new history with a different squad."

"Hampshire are a good, very organised, one-day side and have played well in both forms of limited overs cricket this season. Any side that makes it this far in any competition are going to be tough opponents, but we will be looking to take full advantage of a home draw in front of our own supporters."

In his first full season as Hampshire's First Team Manager, Giles White, had the following to say about his first Trophy Semi-Final: "We've played good cricket in the one-day format. We generated good momentum as we progressed through the Friends Provident Trophy competition, which we've taken that into the Twenty20 Cup."

"There were a couple of blips along the way, but I was pleased with the way the team turned things around and got back on a winning run. The players have shown a lot of character all the way through our Trophy campaign, we've kept a similar side, baring a couple of injuries here and there, and are very much looking forward to taking this momentum into the semi-final against Lancashire."

When asked if it was inevitable that Hampshire would be drawn to play Lancashire considering both Dominic Cork and John Crawley are former Old Trafford residents, Clark continued: "There was bit of a cheer in the change room when we drew Lancashire for that reason. On paper we would have preferred to draw other sides to play, but the Cork factor will come into it. Dominic's very excited about it and looking forward to returning to Old Trafford. We're excited for him and we can hopefully help him win a game against his old side."
